Mom and Dad went to visit Joe again yesterday at the step down unit. They were preparing for his supposed discharge today, only to find out that the equipment had not been delivered to his apartment, they were not planning on doing so, until the case worker got involved.
Joe will not be discharged today, as told, it is now tomorrow. Sure he loves that.
Since the mix up in delivery of home care medical supplies, the visit became too long and tiring, and Dad wound up driving home in the dark.. which he should not be doing!
This proves my point to him, that although an appointment or treatment can be planned for early in the day, in the health care world, the day may not end when you think it will.
I strongly suggested that Joe change home care companies, and I will let the ccc at Jefferson know of this problem. They have that company on their list of providers.. maybe they should not.
If they did not want to travel that far to Joe's apartment, they should not have been offered in the list of choices.
In order for me to be able to take everyone to Joe's follow up/ re-evaluation appointment, I have to work night shift tomorrow night. Dad just really thought I was going to be able to get off... not as easy as they think!
But I will have a few days to recover before I have to get up at O'dark hundred to drive, get everyone and head to Philly. Will have to scope out the time frame today or tomorrow.
I truly CAN get up early and move along... it is just the thought of the alarm clock. LOL
