SO it seems as if Joe's follow up treatment went as expected.. except for the few mini procedures they did.
As usual, Joe got all "gaggy" and then anxious..... made it a very rough appt.
But both Drs seem pleased with his progress and they will even let him return to work....light duty for about 4 weeks, I think.
He was very glad to hear those words.
Although it seems he is not using his electrolarynx very much or even at all. not sure why.
If he is waiting for the implant..he may have a VERY long wait. It does not seem like it will be in the very near future.
As usual, the appt ran very long and due to the irriation of the visit, Joe did get a bit "sick" on the way home...on the train. Dad was in a calm panic mode... but between the two of them, they made it through.
In two weeks, I am going down with him to hear what the chemo and radiation drs have to say. Of course, now that I can take him, Mom and Dad will magically be there. Not exactly sure what was going through their minds... Ohh yes I do,Mom wanted to go to quilting! But this may be where we find out if the cancer is gone for now or not.
I won't use or think of the word survivor until that visit... don't want to jinx him
Our parents still continue NOT to go to activities... not so much because of Joe, but basically, because Dad can't trust Mom's health.
I just offered for them to go hear the Vienna's boy choir who are coming here locally... no, they can't go anywhere that involves driving at night... and she CANNOT sit that long.
Really??? I know she wants to be a hermit, but I don't think Dad does.
Will re-phrase the offer and see what comes of it.
